Creating Your Program

Creating Your Program

After you have created your account, you can now create your own program.

Step 1. Open the “Programs” tab in the settings, and click “New Program” on the right side of your screen.

Step 2. Once you click “New Program,” you will be prompted to enter the basic information for your program. Enter the program name, start and end dates, and a brief description of the program. The description will be used by AI to generate a customized program plan. After entering the required information, click “Next” to proceed with the AI-generated program plan.

In this example, we will create a program called “Demo Acceleration Startup Support Program,” running from August 1 to October 31, 2026. The program includes bi-weekly check-in sessions with the program coordinator, two mentoring sessions with mentors, one meetup/networking event, and a final demo/pitch day for cluster members and investors.

Step 3. After entering the basic information and clicking “Next,” the “Auto-Generate Plan” tab allows you to select templates to include in your program. You can choose from templates automatically generated by Canopy or templates created by users. Once selected, the program structure will be automatically added to your program.

To select a template, click the checkbox next to the template name. After selecting the template, enter the event date. The template will automatically generate the related WBS tasks and KPIs based on the event date as the reference point.

Once you have selected all the templates you would like to include in your program, click “Auto-generate Program Plan” to generate the program structure. You can also manually add milestones, tasks, and KPIs instead of using templates after creating your program. For more information, please refer to the article in Section 2.3.

Step 4. After selecting all templates and clicking “Auto-generate Program Plan,” you will be prompted to review the suggested milestones, tasks, and KPIs in their respective tabs.

To edit the suggested milestones, click on the corresponding fields to modify the milestone name, start date, or end date.

To edit the tasks, navigate to the “Tasks” tab. For each listed task, you can modify the task name and end date

To edit the suggested KPIs, navigate to the “KPI” tab. In this tab, you can modify the KPI name, unit, and target value by clicking on the corresponding fields.

Once you are satisfied with the suggested milestones, tasks, and KPIs, click “Approve and Start Program” to launch your program on Canopy. After the initial program creation, you can manually add or modify milestones, tasks, KPIs, startups, and other program information as needed. These features are explained in Sections 2.2 and Section 2.3.
