Decline / Terminate Link between a Startup and a Company (AI Learning and Training)
If a startup and a company are no longer in negotiation or communication, users can decline the engagement through the Progress page under the “Candidate Pool” tab.
Note that this action is different from the “Remove from Candidate Pool” option available when viewing an ongoing negotiation. “Decline” records the end of the engagement, while “Remove from Candidate Pool” removes the company from the candidate list.
Step 1. Place your cursor over the startup-company linkage that did not progress further or where either side has decided to end the engagement. Click the “Decline” button located at the bottom-right corner of the same container to record the declined engagement.
Step 2. Once you click “Decline,” you will be prompted to select the reason why the negotiation or discussion was terminated. Choose the most appropriate reason for the decline.
If the reason selected is Business/Tech Mismatch, Competitor, Scale/Growth Mismatch, or Tech Stack Mismatch, Sprout will use this information to improve future candidate company suggestions.
Step 3. After selecting the reason for the decline or termination of the discussion, click “Mark as Declined.”
The declined negotiation will be moved to the “Declined” container for future reference.
